Decisions and a Welcome

So First I have to say a welcome to our new niece Victoria Claire Kramer.  We currently have no idea what she looks like at all as my sister in law had to have her in one of those high tech places called a hospital and is still there.  Hopefully we will get to see a picture soon.  She was 7 lbs 10 oz, smaller then her big brother but outweighing my scrawny newborns by quite a lot!

So for us.  Decisions for me the past two years have been torture, not sure why, but they just have been.  I have felt stress over job decisions and education decisions and other things for a long while.  One decision we made last year was to send Celia to a private quaker school.  It has been a great experience for her this year.  I believe in public education and we live in a top school district.  So we intended to send her to the district next year.  It was fine with hesitation at how nurturing the school has been for Celia.  Not to mention the extras that she gets and the fact that they still push her to just be a kid.  But really I was resigning myself to the fact that things were just going to be a little complicated with using before care 2 days a week and having to deal with some extra days off, extra half days, etc.  But we would work through it.  Then last week I learned that my job was changing.  Next year I need to work 2 half days and 1 full day and the following year 4 half days.  I also have working Fridays thrown about 1 to 2 times a month.  I do not like the change and it has left me with many sleepless nights.  Figuring out how I was going to get Audrey to school at a time that would allow me to do the half days and not put her in full days and get to work on time and drop Celia off was just seeming impossible.  Then there is the redistricting issue.  Our school district is going to go through one of the biggest redistricting proposals in the 2015-16 school year that they have seen.  Oh and the fact that we are looking for a house.  All those combined just led me to ask if we could possibly still send her to Friends (Quaker school) and although I don't like the idea of still paying for her education it would solve a huge amount of stress.   And so long story short…. Celia will be going to Friends again next year.

We have told her this does not mean she will go to Friends forever.  The following year it would work out for me to adjust my hours to not have to use any daycare for Celia if she went to the district.  So we will take it one year at a time.  Celia is excited and she would have been okay if we sent her to district but this way we know that redistricting will not make her change schools yet again and we have a bit more freedom in where we move.

And this peanut, well I am not sure she wants to go to school 3 days but she will also be okay.

It's always so hard when schedules change! Sounds like you have a good handle on it all! Good luck looking for the house of your dreams~
