Getting Older

This was Celia a year ago at age 5.  She can still wear that outfit but she certainly is bigger.
On 9/5 this kiddo will be 7.  I do not know a whole lot about 7 year olds.
I know that I am getting this look a lot.
It is an "I know that already and I just can not be bothered with listening to you Mom" look.
I DON'T LIKE IT
She knows that

But then there is the 1 x a year that she allows me to actually put those curls up in piggies and she looks little again.  She is so cute.

This year I think was the year of confidence for my Celia.
With some of these fears of failing if you try gone, I am so excited to find out what this next year holds for my oldest.

More swimming

So the grandparents are likely the only ones interested in more Audrey swimming videos.  She is just SOO proud of herself.

Sleepy Girls

The girls had VBS last week and so my Mom picked the girls up after VBS on the two days I worked. On the first day she was going to bring them back to our house however the girls really wanted to go back to her house.  So 5 minutes after I picked them up the following happened.

She looks insane in that carseat however she has not reached the max weight nor are her shoulders above the top slot so we are set.  In a booster this is what happens.  "Celia you need to sit back, Celia you should not be able to reach the front seat, sit back, get your hands out of the window, Celia sit back, the booster seat should not be flipping, Sit still!!!!" The kid is staying in a carseat until she absolutely can not fit into it.  It is a Diono carseat.  I LOVE those seats.

This Diono that Audrey is sitting in was the replacement one after my car accident.
It converts into a booster seat when the time comes.  We had the same type of carseats in the accident that Pete had when Audrey was 1 month.  Well Celia was in one, Audrey was in an infant bucket seat. But I had 2 Dionos in my car after my accident.  When we have had the seats installed, the tech always comments that he only buys Dionos past the infant stage.

Speaking of the accident, did I share that this happened?  No we did not paint my red car silver.
After getting into the car and taking it apart it was determined that my red car was a total loss.
So I got this, 1 year newer, and cheaper then my red car, yes that was a nice perk!!

It also came with some sweet rims.  Pete pointed them out to me, I would have never noticed.

My Swimmers

So this is a brief clip of Audrey and then one of Celia.  Celia was trying to go super fast and her stroke was not as pretty as it usually is but you can certainly tell she is a strong swimmer!  Audrey may not be able to swim with a stroke above water but she can now make her way to the wall.  She asks over and over and over again to practice her swimming, she loves it.

Here is Celia

Peace and Quiet

The girls had Vacation Bible School last week and it did not occur to me until a few days before they start that while they were at VBS, I was free to do what I wanted.  Heck I could pee in peace!!!  So the first day I dropped them off and stopped by a local preserve.  The last time I had been there was a few years ago and the trail was sort of pathetic.  I expected to walk the trail and cross over to a neighborhood to finish my walk.

Well they have changed it and there are quite a few trails and I was impressed and I also was given a good workout.  The main thing that was nice though was that I was not pushing any kids in the stroller, having comments from one of them, or being told that they were hungry.

I am finding that as they get older, these moments of peace and quiet may be popping up more and more.  Raising them is not getting easier.  Don't get me wrong I appreciate the newborn stage in which all you had to do was meet their basic needs (granted Audrey screamed all through those basic needs but it was different).  Now I have to worry about the influences of others and raising these two little girls to be adults.

Winterthur

We live close to gardens/mansion called Winterthur.  It is one of the Dupont owned properties.
We actually get in free to Winterthur through a reciprocal membership to another garden.  Any how,  Celia picked that as a trip one Friday and we brought around her Buddy.

They enjoyed watching the fish in the pond in the Enchanted Gardens area.
Celia's buddy looks like she really belongs with them, same hair color, same eye color, same body type.
In fact I had 2 comments that my girls looked so much a like, ha!

They have a circle of porch swings and Celia had some fun on them.

Going around the maze type thing.  It entertained them.

The favorite spot was the touch it room.
The touch it room that has real ceramic plates.
I get about being realistic however there are some really pretty plastic plates
that may just hold up better in that room!  Celia and her buddy played hard in that room.
Audrey joined them every so often but really had fun serving me food!
