Happy Easter

Pete caught some pictures on his phone

The Sunday school classes added flowers to the cross.
The girls were very proud of their flower cross.
So I was left with literally 5 min to get dressed after Easter baskets, feeding these two lovelys, dressing them, and doing hair.  Then the older one decided while I am not yet dressed that she wanted to have Easter pictures taken outside.  When I said not now but maybe later she began the pout.

Audrey began to pose

So I zoomed in on her as Celia persisted with her pout

Yup, cuteness on all levels
The older one could be cute but she chose not to be.

A little bit of cute peeking through because she thought her sister was funny.
By the way do you notice the look of love for her cat?

The girls made out quite well with their Easter baskets.  The bunny was heavier on toys then candy this year.  Audrey got a dreamlite and some awesome sinkers for the pool along with a toothbrush that can't tip over.   Celia got a dohvinci kit, crazy loom watch craft, Peter Pan (book), and a toothbrush that does not tip over.  There were some candy treats included too.

Aunt Vickie's Hats

My Mom came back from her visit with my sister with hats that she made for the girls.  They really liked them.  But no offense to my sister, I hope that we have no use for them until next Winter!!

Happenings

So we have done a lot in the past month.

We had our first big snow storm, about 10 inches.  That week school was closed on Monday due to icing and then everyone went about normal business Tuesday until the late afternoon.  In the late afternoon came the freezing rain that brought a 2+ hr commute home for Pete.  So everyone had a 2 hr delay on Wednesday.  Then.. 10 inches that Thursday and the snow did not end until the evening and was brought by a deep freeze.  So school was also closed Friday.

Celia went back to school for four days and then had Spring break this week!  We started off her spring break with a trip to the zoo with friends.  I have never taken the girls to the Philadelphia Zoo and they had a great time.

I drove Celia to Grandma and Grandpa's house this past Monday and left her there from Tuesday (Audrey and I spent the night Mon) until Thursday.   Celia had a wonderful time.  Lots of memories made with her time spent away from home.  She got to see Paddington and went to the Science factory.  There was a tea party for grandpa thrown in there too.

Celia arrived home just in time for Spring or rather snow…..  We were supposed to get around 1 to 3 inches, leaning more along the lines of 1 inch.  I think we got at least 4 inches but it stuck mainly to the grass and not to the roads until later.  The girls had a blast playing in it.  Now I feel safe to say that the snow is done.  It is officially Spring and it will be 60 by the end of the week!

And just to share.. She was asked to brush her teeth and this is how I found her.
Notice the foot on the book.

Happy Spring

Warm breezes, flowers blooming, it is beginning to look a lot like…

Oh wait, there's a flower

Yes, our first day of Spring arrived with snow.  The girls had a great time playing in our LAST snow storm for a very long time.

Celia, the insurance sales rep

After watching tv

Celia: Mommy, are you happy with your insurance?

Me: Uh, what?

Celia: Do you think your insurance does a good job?

Me: What???

Celia:  Well State Farm seems like they do a good job, maybe you should consider that.

Me:  you like the State Farm commercials?

Celia:  Their ok

Word to State Farm, apparently you just have to do "ok" to sell to a 7 year old

This past weekend

On Sat I took the girls to see a Chitty Chitty bang bang preschool preview for one of our local high school musicals.  Celia and I saw Peter Pan last year at that school and it was amazing.

The preview was fairly good but Celia enjoyed it more I think then Audrey, though Audrey behaved very well and seemed to be interested.  They had no costumes on and had no microphones so it was hard to hear.  The chitty chatty bang bang vehicle was also 4 inches too big.  So it did not fit inside.

It was impressive.  For a $5 donation after the free preview, families could go in the cafeteria and have a Community day.  It was simple activities but honestly the girls had a great time.  The highschoolers had games like plinko, match box car racing, bean bag toss, face painting, tattoos, etc.  Their were prizes for everything.  I was not overly thrilled at the amount of candy given as prizes but luckily my kids forget about it quickly.

When we came home I was toying with the idea of taking Celia out to lunch and look at shoes at a shoe store that is closing.  We then made it a family event which was a good thing because as you see from the picture, we started getting snow.  Considering the temperatures have been in the single digits over the past few days, the snow stuck fast.  But we were ok.  We ate at COSI and discovered that Audrey evidently does not like peanut butter or the COSI jelly (she has never had peanut butter because I have a peanut allergy but she likes almond butter) but the kid ate my soup.  I love that soup, I was not happy about sharing.  We did accomplish getting Celia a pair of sneakers and I snuck next size up sneakers for Audrey.  If she knows, she must wear them right away.
Can you see the temperature???  Yes that is a 3.  I got up around 6:30 to go work out on Sat.

My crazy girl.
This poor kid has had a rough winter with various colds, bronchitis, etc.
Thursday she woke up feeling crummy and slept quite a bit.
By Friday she felt much better, it was an odd and quick little bug.
